BOHOTEL hand painted sign

To do this project, it took me 30 hours labour time.

I received a telephone call from Laura of BOHOTEL “I want a neon sign that is not a neon sign. Do you think it can be done with paint? This is the typeface I have seen and I want. Yes, I can achieve the look you have in mind. Great, I have approached a number of sign companies and their advice was the same, “To achieve the look you are after, you need an illuminated sign.” But I don’t want an illuminated sign as they look too flashy and trashy. You are my last hope.

After I had finished, Laura said, “Perfect, this exactly what I wanted for BOHOTEL.”

MY METHOD

I used geometry to faithfully copy the typeface, with curves of the letter B drawn freehand, as it was originally designed. I used a numbered sequence pattern for the ten colours chosen.

If you want to stand out from usual backdrop of flashy and trashy signs in the high street;
