Coach lines on 1913 Rover
Labour time (excluding travelling time) one coat of paint, it took me 16 hours.
I was recently asked to do coachlines on this most lovely 1913 Rover situated in Liverpool.
A price was agreed, dates were arranged when to do the work and hotel accommodation was booked. The owner of the Rover, was very appreciative of me turning up. He had been let down by another signwriter a couple of miles away from where the Rover was situated. This signwriter never even bothered to reply to the email sent. I said, “even if the signwriter is too busy, it would have been good manners to reply to your email.”
From past experience, many signwriters do have a reputation of been unreliable. When I was an unknown name starting out as a freelance signwriter in 1989, unreliability of signwriters opened up many doors for me. For instance; I introduced myself to a second-hand van sales company; I was told “we have already got a signwriter, but will keep your details on file.” A month later I had a phone call. “We have a van that needs doing.” After completion of the signwriting, I went in to the office of Jon Cox, and said, “I have finished. You, have? I need to see this to believe it. You have indeed finished” Jon went on to explain how his previous signwriter constantly messed him about.
C & C Diesels became a good customer of mine for many years.
